Jonathan Edwards | Album Photo Shoot |

Thursday, April 8, 2010

Several weeks ago I had the opportunity to work with the insanely talented Jonathan Edwards. He's a musician here in the area that is picking up speed and will have an album that you'll absolutely want to have in your collection (once it hits the shelves). We had a blast conceptualizing ideas and seeing them through, but this is one shot that just seemed to jump out at me as the album deals with many tough topics such as abandonment... so I thought this was very fitting. Would love to hear your thoughts... do you think the shot conveys the thought and emotion?
Also, here's a quick 1min. clip from his upcoming album. I also want to give a disclaimer about the song (copied from his blog post)... "Keep in mind that this clip is about 50% finished. It has not been mastered. It has not been fully treated. Vocals are not fully done. So listen with those things in mind. I know this is not normally done, but I want you guys to have something to look forward to. So bam… Here she is…" |

While it's been some time since I last posted I can assure you that all the absence is a good thing... we've been blessed to travel all over the country and photograph events alongside other amazing photographers and even shoot a few of our own events. We've photographed a vintage-styled wedding in central Pennsylvania, a senior portrait session in Columbus (and a Buckeye Football game... go Buckeyes!) , a "southern-chic" wedding in Bald-Head Island NC, a few portrait sessions for some incredible musicians, and even the details of a baby shower (including the delicious food!). Needless to say being all over the country causes me to write huge run-on sentences so I'll cut this short... you get the idea, we've been traveling and loving our job!

Caleb and Danielle :: Day After Session |

Monday, August 24, 2009

| Last week I had the pleasure of meeting with Caleb and Danielle for their "Day After Session" (you may remember them from their wedding this past July.) We headed to a quaint little town where colonial homes are landscaped with massive magnolia trees... it was the perfect "southern" feel for their session! After snapping a few photos in that location we moved on to Peak City Grill where we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Here are a few photos from their session... |

| Even though no one was really around, Caleb had a little fun "acting" for us... it was pretty funny watching him hold a pose until I took the shot! |

| Something must be in the water, because all of our friends are popping out children left and right! We're so excited to welcome little Ms. Moore into the world... she's adorable! Corbin and Jen, congratulations to you both and your perfect addition to the family... she's gonna be a heartbreaker! |

...On the Incarnation... a Christmas Album |

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

The other day we headed out to photograph some artwork for Daniel Renstrom's new Christmas album. I'll admit that it was a *tad* warm to be shooting for a Christmas album, let alone get in the Christmas spirit (it was over 100 degrees) but at least I wasn't the guy in a winter hat and jacket... Daniel toughed it out and we came away with some great shots. We also took some time to shoot some new material for his site and while we haven't made any decisions as to what could/would be used, I thought I'd at least give you a sneak peak at what we worked on...
Daniel's new disk, "On the Incarnation" isn't quite out yet, but once it is you should absolutely go and pick up a copy... it's incredible and I don't say that just 'cause I know the guy... it's seriously an incredible disk (and I've only heard the rough cuts). If you get a sec, you should check out some of the videos that James Childs made of the experience mastering the album... they're pretty entertaining and all "artsy fartsy and stuff". |
