Stacy + Timothy :: Engagement |

Thursday, December 25, 2008 | ENGAGEMENTS

This past weekend I had the pleasure of capturing Stacy and Timothy's engagement session. The weather called for rain, but held off just long enough for us to shoot in a handful of locations downtown.
Stacy and Timothy are getting married this coming January in the quaint (and gorgeous) Fearrington Village (which was rated as one of the top resorts in North Carolina by Conde Nast Traveler)... and from all that I hear, it's going to be absolutely gorgeous!
My wife and I have the pleasure of knowing Stacy for some time now and we're absolutely thrilled that she's found Timothy... he's a tremendously great guy!! Congrats Stacy and Timothy. We're soooo excited for you guys!!
Here are a handful of photos from the engagement session...

... Just a few tidbit's of information to catch you up on what's been taking place over here...
..................................
While in the midst of Christmas season and all of the holiday parties, we've been working on launching a new-and-improved website. These things take time and being that we have other matters and clients to attend to, we're hoping for a launch date of mid January... so keep your eyes here for the announcement.
..................................
We're down to our last wedding of the year, and by all accounts it sounds as if it will be a gorgeous event... we can't wait!
..................................
Our hot water heater broke (actually just the pipe leading out of the tank) and we had a bit of water on our hands for the past few days. Fun times, right? Thanks to all of you who responded with recommendations for good plumbers via Twitter!!!
..................................
Our good friends Adam and Sarah had their little boy over the weekend. You may remember them from their photo session a few months ago. We've since been over to their place and I managed to snap a few photos of their son... I'll post those pics here in the next few days.
..................................
We're completely revamping the business and streamlining it so that everything runs more efficiently. Vague, I know, but I don't want to bore you with details... just trust me that the business is getting a complete overhaul for the better.
..................................
Finally, I'll leave you with a song that's been spinning around my head the past few days. If you don't have this album, you should think about picking it up (and you can thank me later).
Hope everyone is having a great Christmas season!!! |

Angi and Jarrod :: Wedding |

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 | WEDDINGS

This weekend's wedding was so much fun! Angi and Jarrod were incredibly relaxed from the moment my assistant and I walked in the door and their mentality seemed to translate to everyone in attendance. Many of the details of the day were taken care of by the fabulous Cori Stocum of Stocum Consulting and team (btw, I'd highly recommend her and her team for your day if you're interested!).
Prior to meeting at the church the guys decided to grab a few drinks and watch the Army vs. Navy game (being that most of them were Navy men) and I gladly tagged along. You'll rarely see me turn down an opportunity to hang out and watch football!! A huge thanks to the staff at Hi5 for opening an hour early so that we could watch the game... it was much appreciated.
|

| Meanwhile Angi and the girls began getting ready in the suite... |

| Before long we all headed to the church where the guys had some extra time to just hang out and tell stories. I was a ways back when I took this photo but I think I heard Jarrod telling a story about how he won a pile of cash in Vegas about "this high"... I may have heard wrong though. :) |

| Following the wedding ceremony there was a baptism for William... what an honor to be able to capture these moments alongside the wedding!!! |

| Of course, we had to have a little fun with the wedding party after all that sitting and standing throughout the ceremony. They were great sports about my ideas. :) |

| The weather was fairly chilly so we made the most of the outdoor portraits and then quickly headed to the reception where Angi and Jarrod had their first dance. |

| William didn't want to be left out of the dance, so he quickly joined in. |

| We managed to sneak away during the reception for a few portraits... I love the elevator shot 'cause of the guy in the left elevator peering over to see what the commotion was all about! |

| ... and of course, the night wouldn't be complete were it not for a ring shot! |

| Angi and Jarrod, thank you so much for having us document your beautiful wedding. We are truly honored and wish you the best in your new life together!!!!! |

This weekend was so much fun as we had the opportunity to photograph Angi and Jarrod's wedding in downtown Raleigh (more on that to come), and I was able to spend a little quality time with my wife. We normally don't send out a traditional Christmas card of the two of us (last year we took a photo of our little Westie, Tressel), but this year we decided that it's about high time we did just that! Being that I'm a photographer by profession, I felt quite a bit of pressure to make the photo look... well, professional (imagine that?). We toyed around with the idea of a traditional portrait in front of the house or one in front of the fireplace, but that's just not what I had in mind. :)
I busted out the flashes, umbrella, and light stand and we had a mini photo session... it was such a blast!! Courtney ran out midway through the shoot to get some candy canes for her pose, and while she did I messed around with the self-timer and a few Christmas ornaments. I was rather pleased with the results, but Courtney said it might be a bit too provocative (I just think it's funny)... |

So we scrapped that one, but managed to find common ground rather quickly. Being that we cannot physically mail out a card to each and every one of you that are reading this blog (even though we love and appreciate y'all very much!), I figured that this is the quickest way to send our Christmas cheer across the world. If you'd like to be added to our mailing list, please send a quick email with "CHRISTMAS" in the subject line and I'll make sure to place you on our list for next year.
Here's the photo of the three of us from the session. Merry Christmas!!!! |
