Tanzania and Thirst Relief International... |

| I'm finding that the more that I speak to others about the need for clean drinking water in countries such as Tanzania, the more I realize just how blessed we are to have certain amenities so readily available to us here in the states... obviously, I'm still processing through this trip mentally.
I could never have asked for a better group of photographers to share this experience with, and it was truly a joy working beside such amazing people that have a heart to see beyond their own business and circumstances. There was purpose in our group being there, even if it was to simply document and raise awareness for organizations such as Thirst Relief International. |

Message of Hope for Tanzania... |

| As many of you are aware, I was privileged to travel with an amazing group of photographers from all over the US to document the ongoing efforts of Thirst Relief International. It's a daunting task to sum up the trip in a single blog post, so in the coming days I hope to share bits and pieces of my experience and likewise convey the message of hope, not despair, through these photos...
Within the first few days of our arriving in Tanzania, we were driven to an orphanage to see first-hand what a difference clean drinking water can make in the lives of the people there. The children were so full of life and seemed to radiate with joy over the fact that people from America were there to visit (oh, and I guess handing out suckers didn't hurt either!)... it was humbling to say the least. More posts to come in the days ahead... |

From NC to Tanzania, Africa... |

| On Monday evening I will be leaving with fourteen other photographers to document the ongoing efforts for Thirst Relief International, an organization that "strives to overcome death and disease resulting from the consumption of contaminated water by providing safe, clean drinking water to those in need around the world." It seems that when you get a group of photographers together, (let alone WEDDING photographers) there also seems to be a wedding-related photo shoot involved. This is where one of our sponsors, Grace Ormonde, from Grace Ormonde | Wedding Style Magazine has graciously stepped in and helped to coordinate the donation of several designer wedding gowns from designers Ines Di Santo, Amy Michelson, Adele Wechsler, Angel Sanchez, and Jenny Packham
This trip will be incredible and I'm so blessed to be able to go and work with Thirst Relief International to meet the immediate needs of those without much in this world. On my last trip to Africa I was left with many images and experiences that will remain with me for the rest of my life... some full of laughter, some that broke my heart, and others that leave me with a passion for the people of Africa. I've never been so affected by a trip in such a way, and I long for the moment that my feet hit African soil. I hope that you can somehow vicariously experience this trip with me (and even the rest of the photography team that will be going), so we have set up a blog that you can follow while we are in Tanzania, but being that internet connection may be limited, we're hoping for the best... so please say a prayer and leave a comment on the group blog if you're so inclined. | We had an absolute blast photographing Caleb and Danielle's wedding this past weekend, and while we're still editing away on the shots from the day, we wanted to share a slideshow of the photobooth from their wedding.
